A&O at Texas Eclipse Festival
February 12th, 2024
Alpha & Omega’s Mounted Security Patrol will provide public safety for the Texas Eclipse Festival, April 5 to 9, at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, Texas. Texans all over the state are preparing for large crowds for the total solar eclipse in April. Texas is positioned perfectly in the path of totality stretching 115 miles wide from Mexico to Newfoundland.
The eclipse will last almost five minutes in the path of total darkness. A total solar eclipse is an exceptionally rare celestial event, estimated to recur at any given place only once every 400 years. It has been more than 600 years since the last one was visible in Central Texas (May 26, 1397). The next one will be February 25, 2343.
Texas Eclipse Festival goers have this rare chance to experience over 4 minutes of totality in the picturesque landscape of Reveille Peak Ranch, free from light pollution. Fans will see one of the longest total solar eclipses near a major metro area (Austin) in North American history. But there’s more. The event will feature 300 music acts representing the soundscapes of 13 countries. Add to that:
• Tech activations and demonstrations by Austin global tech innovators
• Space travel expo
• Science speakers and panels
• Immersive and interactive art
• Food and craft vendors
• Camping choices from basics to glamping
